Organic Egg Sliders

Number of servings:

2

Preparation time:

15 minutes

Ingredients

The Base ("Buns"):

  • 4 large organic or free-range eggs
  • Toothpicks (for assembly)

The Filling:

  • 2 slices high-quality organic ham
  • 4 small lettuce leaves (Romaine or butter lettuce)
  • 4 slices of tomato (preferably small, like Roma tomatoes)
  • 4 slices of pickled cucumber (optional)

Mint-Garlic Keto Dip:

  • 2 heaping tbsp thick sour cream (18% or 24% fat)
  • Pinch of garlic powder
  • A few fresh mint leaves, finely chopped
  • Salt and freshly ground pepper

Preparing

1. Boiling the Eggs: Place the eggs in a small saucepan, cover with cold water, and bring to a boil. Once the water reaches a rolling boil, cook for exactly 9–10 minutes. Drain and immediately plunge into ice-cold water—this ensures the yolks stay bright yellow without the unsightly grey ring and makes them easier to peel.

2. The Dip: In a small bowl, combine the thick sour cream with the garlic powder, chopped mint, salt, and pepper. Set aside for a few minutes to let the flavors meld.

3. Prep: Cut the organic ham into smaller pieces sized to fit the eggs. Carefully peel the cooled eggs and slice them in half lengthwise.

4. Assembly: Spread a portion of the mint dip onto the bottom half of each egg (it acts as the "glue").

5. Layering: On top of the sauce, layer a crunchy lettuce leaf, a folded piece of ham, a tomato slice, and a pickle.

6. Finishing: Top with the remaining egg half. To keep the sliders stable, insert a toothpick through the center from top to bottom.

7. Serve immediately as a quick, protein-packed snack.
